DK Gradient: Copper Canyon
Copper Canyon is one of my most popular colorways, one that moves from burnished orange through sage green, sky blue, turquoise, verdigris, and deep dusky blue, with rich, gradual transitions. It was originally dyed as a blank, and then unraveled, washed, and wound into a ball, ready for knitting or crocheting. Blanks are machine-knitted strips, which are then dyed to produce long gradual color changes. There may be pale or white speckling throughout the skein, where the knitted stitches overlapped and dye didn't completely penetrate.
This blank was knitted with 4 oz (100 g) of American Dream DK, a 100% superwash merino DK weight yarn that's grown, processed, spun, and dyed entirely in the USA. Approximate yardage: 280 yds. Recommended needle size: US 4-6 (3.5-4.0 mm). While items made from this yarn can be machine washed, hand washing in cold water is recommended, to extend the life of your handmade items. Lay flat to dry.
