Charcoal is a deep dark grey semi-solid, nearly black. It's hand-dyed on American Dream Worsted, a springy 3-ply yarn produced from 100% Targhee that's grown, processed, and spun entirely in the U.S. When you choose this yarn, you'll get a beautifully light, soft, and cozy yarn--and you'll support the American textile industry and reduce your carbon footprint.

Targhee is a truly American breed of sheep, with its origins in Idaho and Montana in the 1920s as breeders began crossing Rambouillet rams with Rambouillet/Lincoln/Corriedale ewes, seeking to create sheep that would have both fine wool and higher lamb production. The first Targhee sheep were registered in 1952.

Each skein is 3.5 oz (100 g) and measures approximately 245 yards. Suggested needle size: US 6-7. Hand wash in cold water, lay flat to dry.
