Polwarth combed top: Catch and Release colorway
Sometimes I dye without a real plan, just applying color as ideas occur to me. I think of these as my Catch and Release colorways, where I capture a combination from the dyeing wilderness and then send it back out into the world. They aren't always repeatable, so you may never see it again!
This colorway is a soft blend of colonial blue, butter yellow, deep antique rose, and pale jade, with navy accents. It's hand-painted on Polwarth wool. The Polwarth was originally bred from Merino and Lincoln sheep, and its fleece combines the softness of its Merino ancestors with a longer staple length derived from its Lincoln heritage. It blooms beautifully after washing.
Hand wash in cold water, lay flat to dry.
