Polwarth/silk spinning fiber: Sansa Apple
Sansa is part of my series of apple-inspired colorways, though it probably also suits Sansa Stark, a character from the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin. This is a pretty combination of antique roses, soft gold, new-leaf green, warm brown, and touches of apricot.
It's dyed on 4 oz of Polwarth/silk, a blend of 85% Polwarth wool and 15% tussah silk. The Polwarth combines the softness of its Merino ancestors with a longer staple length contributed by its Lincoln heritage. It blooms beautifully after washing. The silk gives this blend a glimmer and drape that brightens the matte appearance of the Polwarth. This blend is a perennial favorite for its soft hand and subtle shine.
Hand wash in cold water, lay flat to dry.
