Polwarth/silk spinning fiber: creamy peach to burnt umber gradient

This hand-painted gradient combines all my favorite oranges, from peach and cream through tangerine, pumpkin, and into burnt umber. Chain-ply the singles to maintain the long color changes, or spin braids separately and ply them together to create an ultra-long gradient.

It's dyed on 4 oz of Polwarth/silk, a blend of 85% Polwarth wool and 15% tussah silk. The Polwarth combines the softness of its Merino ancestors with a longer staple length contributed by its Lincoln heritage. It blooms beautifully after washing. The silk gives this blend a glimmer and drape that brightens the matte appearance of the Polwarth.

Hand wash in cold water, lay flat to dry.
