Hypatia is part of my Stars in Her Eyes series, honoring female astronomers. Hypatia was a prominent astronomer, mathematician, and philosopher, born during the mid-300s in Alexandria, Egypt. She was one of the leading teachers of her time, and was murdered by a mob. Her death has come to symbolize the decline of science as the Roman Empire fell and the medieval period began.
